Fluorocarbon's biggest advantage is its low visibility. This is due to its refractive index which is the degree to which light bends or refracts as it passes through a substance. Fluorocarbon also contains more material than mono and has a much harder finish. It is basically a solid material that is more dense than water. As such it sinks and doesn't absorb water. The material also has a diameter that is comparable to or smaller than monofilament of similar strength Additionally fluorocarbon is very abrasion-resistant and is less susceptible to damage.
